PENMAIN HEIR APPARENT (SANDBOURNE ROYAL ENSIGN (Imp) / SUFTON WILD ROSE (Imp), continued his Tatura successes, winning Champion Part Welsh Foal to exceed 12.2, and going on to take the Supreme Champion Part Welsh Foal award.
PENMAIN COUNTY SQUIRE (FERNLEIGH FINE PRINT / COUNTY COVER GIRL) took the Australian Riding Pony Championship followed by the Supreme APSB/ Riding Pony / Australian Riding Pony Championship. In the adjoining ring, COUNTY SQUIRE won the Open Breeds Championship exceeding 12.2, followed by the Overall Supreme Open Breeds Champion.

We were also pleased to produce PENMAIN COUNTY SQUIRE, again bred and owned by Rossanne Mason, to take Champion Part Bred Welsh Colt, and Reserve Champion Riding Pony Colt. COUNTY SQUIRE is be FERNLEIGH FINE PRINT out of COUNTY COVER GIRL, and therefore a full brother to the very successful saddle ponies KOLBEACH PROMISE and KOLBEACH VOGUE.

We were pleased to produce and show KOLBEACH ROYALIST (photo above) for Andrew Hunt and Charlotte Thompson of the Argyl Stud, in South Australia, to win the Riding Pony Stallion Class followed by the Champion Led Stallion / Colt award. Foaling News Our bay 12.2hh mare, DEANHILLS FASCINATION (Sandbourne Royal Ensign / Fabdens Chit Chat), foaled an exquisite Chestnut filly on 14th March, by Lechlade Quince. FASCINATION is a full sister to past Ridden Show Pony Of the Year, Bradmore Catkin, and has been a huge winner in youngstock classes with Championships at Royal Cornwall, National Pony Show etc etc. This is her second foal, her first, a colt by Deanhills Royal Portrait, was very successful in foal classes last season including winning both the Novice and Open Foal classes at The National Pony Show.

Melbourne Royal Summer Horse Show 12th - 14th March Its been a fabulous show for ponies produced by the Stud, with all our clients exhibits continuing their winning run. KOLBEACH CHANTING stood top in the 2 year old 14.2 Riding Pony Filly class, whilst KOLBEACH ANGEL took the Reserve Riding Pony Filly Championship. ANGEL has now been sold to Haylee Baxter in New South Wales, and we wish her every success with this beautiful filly in the future.

POSH will now be offered for sale as a future top class 13.2 ridden prospect and further details can be obtained from owner / breeder, Rossanne Mason Email Link POSH returned on the final day to contest the Best In Show Championship, where he made through to the top 5 final in a star studded line up of 17 Supreme Champions. Friday also saw the Arab Derivative classes, where we were pleased to produce LANGTREE EVERLASTING for owner David Ross to stand Champion Arabian Riding Pony Filly. It was great to see descendents of SANDBOURNE ROYAL ENSIGN taking a couple of classes, Lynn Warburton's KOLBEACH CLASS (out of LJS Fleetcroft Royal Whisper by ENSIGN) in the 14.2 three year old filly class, and Corumbene Stud's SILKWOOD NUTKIN (By Deanhills Benjamin - S.R. Ensign X Bradmore Nutkin) 1st in the 12.2 two year old filly class. Deanhills Stud was proud to sponsor the new Hunter Pony Breeding Championship at the Show and would like to extend congratulations to Roger and Gayle Searle on winning this inaugural event.
AnotherBarastoc EFA Horse Of The Year Show 14th - 17th February KOLBEACH CHANTING made for a great start for Deanhills at Barastoc on the Thursday, winning the Led Newcomer Large Pony Class, followed by the Overall Led Newcomer Championship.

Classically bred, CHANTING is by FERNLEIGH FINE PRINT out of OLDCOURT BALLALIKA (Imp), who was a past Ridden Show Pony Of The Year at the UK Horse Of the Year Show. Friday was Barstoc Riding Pony Youngstock Of The Year section. Making her show ring debut was Angie Penalurick's KOLBEACH ANGEL, photo below, (Fernleigh Fine Print / Necta Night Surprise) who won the 13.2 yearling filly class, followed by the Yearling Filly Championship then standing Reserve Supreme Yearling to her stablemate, PENMAIN POSH (see below), who had previously won the Yearling Colt Championship, and ended a sensational day being sashed Supreme Grand Champion of the Show.
POSH returned on Saturday to contest the APSB classes, and continued his fantastic run by taking the Supreme APSB Riding Pony Championship.

The Show season finally got under way here for us here in Victoria, with the EFA holding In Hand classes for the first time at the Open Show at Werribee Park on Australia Day. PENMAIN POSH, produced by the stud, made a great start winning his class before going on to win the Open Pony Championship. POSH, a chestnut yearling colt to make 13.2 h.h., is bred and owned by Rossanne Mason, by Fernleigh Fine Print out of Kirreway Rendezvous, and was successful as a foal including Supreme Champion at The All Breeds Foal Show in May 2007.
Latest news - Past Royal Show Champion, SPRING HOLLY OF ASTRAL (Rotherwood Acrobat / Solway Magnolia), has been kindly leased to the Stud by her owner, Lesley Walkinshaw, and having been covered by ENSIGN dropped in foal first time. Due in September, the result will be eagerly awaited given the fabulous foals already on the ground out of Rotherwood Acrobat mares.

The first foal conceived by Sandbourne Royal Ensign since his Import to Australia arrived on the 11th August, from the Rotherwood Acrobat mare, 'Fairlight Acres Style Pattern', an exquisite dark brown quality colt to make 12.2 hands. Photo above at 3 weeks old, below at 2 months.
The Davey family from The Canterbury Park Stud in Ceres, Victoria have had a stunning chestnut colt foal by ENSIGN from their mare, CANTERBURY PARK OLIVIA, who is in turn by the Sandbourne Royal Ensign son, SYON ROYAL PORTRAIT (photo below).

Ponies Association UK Summer Champs 16th - 18th August
Limited results are to hand but a fabulous day was recorded by WAYWARD SILHOUETTE (by ENSIGN out of a thoroughbred mare), who stood Overall D J Riseley In Hand Champion, before going on to win the Overall Supreme Championship of the Show against all the Ridden Champions. SILHOUETTE has qualified for the Cuddy Supreme In Championship at the Horse Of The Year Show in October, and is destined to become a brood mare next season. Standing Reserve to SILHOUETTE in the D J Riseley was BRADMORE LALIQUE (by ENSIGN out of FABDENS CHIT CHAT) who is currently in foal to Lechlade Quince for next year, and looks to be a very exciting Show Brood Mare prospect.
A stunning 12.2 colt foal, JIPSON CURLEW, (by DEANHILLS ROYAL PORTRAIT out of DEANHILLS KITTIWAKE topped a great season winning the Rotherwood Supreme Foal Championship.
Welsh National Championship Show 5th August
DEANHILLS SWEET RHAPSODY (by ENSIGN out of ROSSLYN SWEET FUN) followed up her Supreme In Hand win in 2006, winning the Supreme Ridden Part Bred Of The Year award. RHAPSODY is owned by Jane Laffey, who also had great success with her home bred 14.2 yearling colt, WYTCHWOOD DESERT PRINCE (by DEANHILLS ROYAL PORTRAIT) who won the Supreme Led Part Bred Of the Year Championship. DESERT PRINCE is enjoying a fabulous season and also took the Supreme Riding Pony Championship at The Scottish Horse Show the following week.

The Royal Welsh Show 25th July
BRADMORE CELEBRATION made it a hat trick of Royal Show Championships in the UK for ENSIGN progeny. CELEBRATION stood overall Riding Pony Breeding Champion, before taking the Reserve Supreme In Hand Championship of the Show, and notched up another Reserve for the CUDDY In Hand Championship Kent County Show 13th July FALCONHURST REPERTOIRE had another great show winning the Part Bred Arab two or three year old class, followed by the Overall Part Bred Arab Championship.
The Great Yorkshire Show 11th July SANDBOURNE ROYAL ENSIGN stock dominated the Riding Pony Breeding Sections. BRADMORE FABERGE took the Riding Pony Brood Mare Championship, with her foal by DEANHILLS ROYAL PORTRAIT also winning his class. WAYWARD SILHOUETTE made her return to the ring, after having claimed the Cuddy In Hand qualifier at Notts County Show in May, to win the Riding Pony Youngstock Championship and Overall Supreme. A new face appeared in the ring to take Reserve Youngstock Champion, ASTRAL HEARTBREAKER a 12.2 yearling colt by ENSIGN, owned by Sandra Donovan, who looks to have a great future. The Royal Of England 1st - 4th July DEANHILLS SWEET RHAPSODY continues to go from strength to strength. RHAPSODY won her 128cms class before going on to win the Open Ridden Show Pony Championship. RHAPSODY returned on Wednesday for the Supreme Ridden Horse / Pony Championship, when she stood 2nd Reserve Supreme, and top of the Pony Section Congratulations to her owner Jane Laffey, her very capable producer / jockey, Becky Edwards, and Team Gilbert-Scott for all their help and guidance. Wednesday was 'Breeds' day, and again ENSIGN stock recorded some great results. Dawn Lee's BRADMORE CHIT CHAT took the Overall Riding Pony Brood Mare Championship, followed by the Reserve Supreme In Hand Horse / Pony Championship. her foal by FALCONHURST REPERTOIRE (who is also by ENSIGN) won the Riding Pony Foal Championship, and REPERTOIRE also won his 2/3 year old colt class. Standing reserve in the youngstock Championship was Jane Laffey's yearling 14.2 colt, WYTCHWOOD DESERT PRINCE (by the ENSIGN son, DEANHILLS ROYAL PORTRAIT).
WYTCHWOOD DESERT PRINCE Royal Norfolk Show 27th June The 3 year old 128cms colt, DEANHILLS PRINCE REGENT (Sandbourne Royal Ensign / Bradmore Nutkin) enjoyed a great show for owners, Universal Packaging Ltd, winning the overall Part Bred Arab in hand Championship. PRINCE REGENT was a huge winner as a yearling when shown by Deanhills Stud, now shown by Jeff Grace, PRINCE REGENT stood reserve for the Cuddy In Hand Championship at Ponies UK last year. and was Supreme In hand Champion at NPS Area 17 earlier this season. Making a welcome return to the showring, was BRADMORE FABERGE (Sandbourne Royal Ensign / Fabdens Chit Chat) now as a Broodmare. Having won her Riding Pony Broodmare class and Reserve Champion mare, Faberge went on to win the Part Bred Arab 4 and over section, followed by the Part Bred Arab In Hand Championship. Full sister, BRADMORE CELEBRATION not to be outdone by her elder, took the Part Bred Welsh Section Championship, going on to stand Reserve Supreme Overall In Hand Champion of Show. DEANHILLS SWEET RHAPSODY notched up another win with the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championhship.
The Royal Highland Show 22nd June
The Royal Highland Show had some great results for the three full 'Bradmore' sisters, by SANDBOURNE ROYAL ENSIGN out of FABDENS CHIT CHAT: Dawn Lee's BRADMORE CHIT CHAT winning the Riding Pony Brood Mare class and Overall Riding Pony Championship, Pat Greenleaf's BRADMORE CELEBRATION, wining her class, and the Rommano Stud's BRADMORE SWANSONG, taking the Reserve Part Arab Championship. Standing Reserve to CHIT CHAT, and Youngstock Champion in the Riding Pony Section, was Jane Laffey's WYTCHWOOD DESERT PRINCE, (by DEANHILLS ROYAL PORTRAIT), on his debut outing. BRADMORE CHIT CHAT went on to stand Reserve overall Supreme for The Cuddy In Hand Championship Cheshire County Show 20th June

SQUIRRELL is owned by Jane Laffey who is also enjoying a fantastic season with her 4 year old DEANHILLS SWEET RHAPSODY Three Counties Show 16/17th June Stock by Ensign have had another fabulous show. DEANHILLS SWEET RHAPSODY, enjoying her first season under saddle, had a great day. Beautifully produced and shown by Becky Edwards, RHAPSODY won a strong 128cms Show Pony Class, qualifying for the Horse Of The Year Show, then crowned her day winning the Overall Ridden Show Pony Championship. Becky enjoyed further success when her 133cms Show Hunter Pony, HINDLEAP CHOIR BOY, (a grandson of Ensign) took the Overall Show Hunter Pony Championship, whilst FAWSLEY ROYAL ENTREPRENEUR, again by Ensign, won the 122cms Show Hunter Pony class, both qualifying for the Horse Of The Year Show. In the In Hand rings, BRADMORE CELEBRATION completed a hat trick of Championships from her last three shows, winning the Riding Pony Youngstock Championship, followed by The Overall Supreme Riding Pony award, whilst FALCONHURST REPERTOIRE gained another Championship in the Part Bred Arab section. Royal Bath and West Show 31st May BRADMORE CELEBRATION continued her winning run, taking the 128cms two and three year old Riding Pony Filly Class, the Overall Riding Pony Breeding Championship, and standing Reserve Champion for the Cuddy Supreme In Hand Championship. CELEBRATION is by Sandbourne Royal Ensign out of Fabdens Chit Chat, owned and bred by Pat Greenleaf and shown and produced by Craig Elenor. CELEBRATION is full sister to our own DEANHILLS FASCINATION, who is currently in foal to Lechlade Quince. Another full sister, BRADMORE CHIT CHAT was 1st and Reserve Champion Part Arab, whilst DEANHILLS PRINCE REGENT won the 2 & 3 Year Old Part Arab class, and FALCONHURST REPERTOIRE stood first in the Riding Pony 2 & 3 year old colt class, both being by ENSIGN. In the Ridden section ALLTALK (see below) won his Intermediate Show Riding Type Class, going on to take the Intermediate Championship and qualifying for the Horse Of The Year Show ___________________________________________________________________________

Royal Windsor Horse Show 12th May It was great to see home bred ponies by Sandbourne Royal Ensign doing well at the first Major Ridden show in the UK, Deanhills Sweet Rhapsody continued to stand up to her older counterparts being second in the Novice 128cms Show Pony class, followed by a very pleasing 2nd in the Open class, Deanhills Golden Heights, (a full brother to Rhapsody) 3rd in the Open 133cms Show Hunter Pony Class, and Radway Black Night , 1st in the 122 cms Show Hunter Ponies.

Great news from the UK, the Sandbourne Royal Ensign three year old colt, Falconhurst (Aus) Repertoire, shown and produced by Jeff Grace, took the Riding Pony Championship and the overall Supreme In hand Championship at the recent Spring Festival Show. Repertoire is following up his fantastic yearling season when shown by the Deanhills Stud to win numerous Supremes including the Cuddy In Hand Championship at The National Pony Society Championship Show.
